The History of Panic Away no comments
Irishman Ba
rry Joe McDonagh, often called Joe Barry on websites, suffered from anxiety attacks for years and finally resolved to do something to help himself. Out of his own experience, he developed a system based on cognitive therapy that can recognize and stop panic attacks before they have a chance to begin. Barry then decided to share his secret with others who suffer with anxiety disorders, so he wrote Panic Away and published it both as a hard copy and as an e-book in 2001.
Since then it has helped thousands of people in 32 countries by teaching them Barry’s special technique for dealing with panic. This involves using exercises to cause the body to respond to the panic away with excitement and anger rather than trying to be calm.
The system is updated regularly to take into account new findings from psychologists and medical science, but it has retained the very simple principles, which make it popular and easy to use. It has become one of the most successful systems for treating anxiety and panic.
